Coronavirus and the “SEM with Mplus” courses
Update (27 July 2021):
I am very pleased we will be able to resume our courses in Cambridge. We are counting on safety on three fronts:
- College measures: The teaching room is suited for 60 people, but we are only offering 10 seats for this course. Further measures will be in place, as the College takes a cautious approach to re-opening: although events are now freely allowed in England, the College has cancelled almost all events scheduled for Autumn 2021. Our course is one of the very few exceptions.
- Individual measures: So far we have 7 attendees, all vaccinated with 2 doses, so we will be able to form a bubble with its own “herd immunity”. Note: if you wish to attend, you are not required to be vaccinated.
- Nation-wide situation: The daily nr of coronavirus cases has been decreasing in England. I am not convinced this is a real change, as it may hide several confounding factors. However, it is also true that as of mid-July, >70% of adults have received 2 vaccine doses. The Office for National Statistics estimates that 90% of adults would have had antibodies against the virus in mid-June and I assume this proportion will be higher by mid-September.
Changing your mind: If you get the virus before coming or otherwise need to cancel, you will receive a full refund for the course fees. If you have a room booked with the college you will also receive a full refund (minus £10 needed to cover external fees to online payment system).
September course gift: Anyone who registers for the September course, will also be enrolled into the corresponding components of my online courses (Cross-sectional: Wizard’s Cat & Potion Master; Longitudinal: Spell Caster). After the in-person course, you will be able to take the online ones, to further sharpen your newly-acquired skills. To see what this is about and how it works, I invite you to visit my website for online courses: MplusWizard. The website includes a detailed description of what it is like to take the courses, complete with videos.
